“I am a visual artist working in oil paint. My style is a mixture of surrealism., minimalism and abstract expressionism. I have an architectural background and that is reflected in my paintings.
“I have been working in the fields of design, architecture and visual arts since the 1980′s. I was born in Iran, and moved to Toronto in 1978 to continue my education. The 1979 Islamic revolution, prevented me from returning and I decided to make Canada my permanent home.
“Nevertheless, I have always been curious and fascinated about my roots and my lost country with its long, long history and culture. The influences of these, are self evident in some of my works as well as the 3-dimensional quality of architecture.”
Darius Sanei is a Toronto artist. He studied Fine Arts at York University and Architecture at Carleton University.
