The art of oil painter Linda Woolven reveals inspiration from two sources. Her love of Canada and its architecture is shown by the character she finds in old buildings. And her childhood spent among the trees, lakes and rocks of Northern Ontario has led her to utilize thick textures that are suggestive of reality without being abstract or literal, so that her landscapes in oil bring out her love for the land.
In addition to painting, Linda is a widely-published and award-winning poet; and a cookbook author, herbalist, and acupuncturist. She lives in Toronto.
