"Most of my life I have drawn objects, mostly as a hobby. In my late 20s, I attended Sheridan College, where I focused on Technical Illustration. This is where I learned the finer points of drawing and painting.
"After college, I continued to draw from life, but worked mostly with digital artwork and didn’t pick up a brush until 12 years later. In late 2008, something switched on and I needed to paint; the passion was back. Since then, I have painted almost everyday. My work continues improve and I am growing as an artist.
"My work has evolved since then as I learn more about what it means to produce
a successful painting. Now, my work is based on working with shapes, values, colour relationships and composition, and although my work is still representational, the objects I paint are secondary and the relationships and form are my focus.
"In my short time as a painter I have been juried into two art groups, Mississauga Art Society and the Colour and Form Society and been juried into many group shows over the past few years. I look forward to what the future holds as my work continues to evolve as an artist." (Dave Froude, Colour and Form Society
